The price rises from the big 5 energy companies seem to come round pretty quick but how do they actually compare to other rises?

We’ve normalised all data back to October 2010. You can see that retail gas and electricity prices have outstripped the Consumer Price Index considerably – i.e. they have gone up much much faster than the average price of everything else.

The line a the bottom is interesting as it show that throughout this period we’ve kept the price of our Masterplan stable – and since its designed to save you money on your energy bills that means its getting more and more cost effective all the time.
