Heat Loss in the Home

Our Services

Every property is unique in its location, size, number of occupants, internal functions, building fabric and exposure to weather. We therefore consider each whole property as a system and identify the most appropriate and complementary measures that will achieve maximum environmental and financial benefit for our Clients' budget. While our approach is centred on reducing the contribution to climate change, we are also careful to incorporate ‘future proofing’ measures to reduce the effects of climate change such as higher temperatures and more severe weather.

With this in mind, we offer a range of services to satisfy each stage on the road to financial and environmental improvement. We pride ourselves on giving Clients sufficient clarity to understand the technologies available so that they can make informed decisions in what can be a complicated area of expertise:

Selection of Services

The Parity Home Energy Masterplan

We carry out a detailed survey of your property and also interview the residents to ascertain the typical usage of the property. We then produce a bespoke report detailing the following:

  • Comparison of the performance of your building against the ‘standard’ UK equivalent.
  • Guidance on changes to reduce energy bills and CO2 emissions that are zero and near-zero cost to you.
  • Guidance on more substantial investments on the property using our in-house software to evaluate and rank all possible measures for your home.
  • Work packages are presented and costed to suit your timescales and your budget with a projection of just how low your bills and CO2 emissions can go.

Upon receipt of our Home Energy Masterplan, 95% of our customers are able to reduce their gas and electricity bills by more than the cost of the report within the first year - without extra investment in the house. We can show you how to use your house more effectively.

Statutory Assessments

  • We can arrange an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for your property – the only mandatory element of the Home Improvement Pack (HIP) for homes before they are sold.

Follow this link for further information on the legal requirements.

Design

  • We produce designs compliant with the latest Building Regulations to fit your budget whilst ensuring maximum environmental gain for each pound spent. Our designs aim to achieve the highest possible EPC rating.
  • We can produce all documents to achieve successful planning applications, building control approval and for contractor tender documents.
  • Our design packs give indicative prices for the envisaged work whether it is a DIY project or if professional builders are to be employed.

Construction

  • We can identify and select appropriate contractors for your chosen design based on our experience of combining all elements in a successful eco-renovation. We have a growing database of trusted contractors that we can put to work on your behalf.
  • We can project manage the entire process for you to give greater confidence in the final budget and completion date.
  • An eco-renovation approach is new to most building trades but we are happy to work alongside them to ensure that no opportunities to include energy and water efficiency are missed.

Monitoring

  • As a stand-alone service we provide in-situ monitoring systems to record and display energy and water usage in any property. We can record electricity, gas and water flows together and also use techniques to identify householder behaviour as a function of total energy consumed.
  • Such monitoring can be installed before or after any work is carried out to measure and demonstrate the improvements.

The monitoring work that we do improves our design processes so that we are giving recommendations that are real, not guessed.

Our assessments identify appropriate opportunities available for any property in any condition. As a project matures we narrow down the options and the expected cost of the improvements.

At each stage we present our Clients with the financial and environmental gains expected for every pound spent on the property, allowing our Clients to make informed choices with clear information.

Contact us to discuss the likely costs and long term savings that could be made in your property.
